Fundraising remains our primary focus. We have submitted a letter of inquiry to the Templeton Foundation for their October funding cycle; we should know by the end of November if we have been invited to submit a full proposal. Our discussions with the Sloan Foundation continue. We are actively seeking initial funding for the production of a teaser DVD and other development activities. Research and story development continue with vigor. We are also in the process of writing the book that will accompany the broadcast series.

We held our first Friends of Computing meeting in the Bay Area at oDesk (thanks, Gary, for hosting!). We met with some old friends and made some new ones, and then Grady gave a short presentation about Computing: The Human Experience.” There was much excitement about the project, and a number of people volunteered to become involved.

Jim Bentz and his wife Carol have graciously volunteered to organize a Friends of Computing group to gather a community of people who are excited by Computing: The Human Experience and want to support and encourage its success in a variety of ways.
